2020 - the year everything changed

When I started my website/blog this fall I had every intention of being consistent. But then life happened... One thing 2020 taught me, among other things, was to stop settling for literally anything. Between my social life, professional life, family life and now living situation- this year was the year all of the above changed.
We decided spur of the moment recently to move. And within 30 days we moved. We moved and we worked, all while trying to make Christmas just as special for our little girl. We “downsized” & moved in with family members to propel ourselves forward in the years to come. We cut our rent in HALF!!! My husband, daughter and myself now live with my younger sister & her toddler, in a two family house with my older sister, her husband and their two toddlers on the other side. Talk about a “Full House!!!” We purged- and I mean PURGED so much. We threw away things that no longer brought joy, sold furniture that we just outgrew, and donated things we no longer had use for. I even got rid of our microwave. 🤣 You have no idea how good this all felt! And now we’re adjusting- adjusting to a new apartment that we need to find ways to store things differently, adjusting to living with my sister & her 2 year old, adjusting to a different town, adjusting to a new schedule... but all of these things are causing us to grow. Every change and challenge in life makes you grow in some way.
2020 will always be remembered as the year that everything changed for everyone. The year we all slowed down and appreciated the small things. The year we realized we’re not guaranteed anything, especially time. The year we really appreciated those we love and just being able to see them. It was a monumental year, and if we all take a look back to reflect, I’m sure we can find the good in it and realize the strength we all gained. Here’s to 2021! A year of more writing, creating, traveling, outfits, baking, drink making, fitness & fun!!! I hope you follow along. ☺️💛✨
